Regulations Regarding Temporary Entry Document

Issued pursuant to
Section 70, Paragraph five of the Asylum Law

1. This Regulation prescribes the sample (Annex) of a temporary entry document and the procedures for its issuance and transfer.

2. If necessary due to objective reasons, the diplomatic or consular mission of the Republic of Latvia (hereinafter - the mission) may, on the basis of the confirmation of the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs on resettlement of the person, issue a temporary entry document for a third-country national or a stateless person (hereinafter - the person).

3. The temporary entry document shall be filled in in Latvian and English or French.

4. The temporary entry document shall be valid for 30 days, but not longer than until the moment when the person enters the Republic of Latvia and submits an application regarding granting of refugee or alternative status.

5. After entering Latvia and submitting the application referred to in Paragraph 4 of this Regulation, the person shall transfer the temporary entry document to the State Border Guard for destruction.
