Dear Mr Jean-Jacques Dordain,
In reply to your letter of March 31, 2014, I have the honour
to inform, that Latvia accepts the proposal on extension of the
term for Latvia's subscription of the Plan of European
Cooperating States Charter (hereafter - PECS Charter).
We confirm that your letter together with this affirmative
letter of reply, constitute the Agreement on the Extension of
Subscription of the PECS Charter, which shall extend the term of
subscription of the PECS Charter laid down in paragraph 1 of
Article 14 of the European Cooperating State Agreement between
the Government of the Republic of Latvia and the European Space

This Agreement shall take effect on the date of notification
that both parties have met the necessary internal conditions for
the Agreement to enter into force, on what Latvia will inform the
European Space Agency separately.
I am looking forward the long term and fruitful co-operation

Subject: Extension of the ESA/Latvia
Cooperation Agreement and extension of the date of Latvia's
subscription of the PECS Charter
Dear Minister,
Pursuant to our previous exchange of letters of 23 January
2014 and 5 February 2014, I am pleased to inform you that the ESA
Council has approved on 19 March 2014, the proposed extension for
the subscription by Latvia of the PECS Charter until 31 January
2015 as well as the extension of the ESA/Latvia Cooperation
Agreement without any modification until either the date of entry
into force of Latvia's ECS Agreement or 31 January 2015,
whichever is the earliest.
If the above is acceptable to your Government, I propose that
this letter, together with your affirmative letter of reply,
shall constitute an Agreement under which the deadline for
Latvia's signature of the PECS Charter will be extended until 31
January 2015 and the ESA/ECS Cooperation Agreement will be
extended until either the date of entry into force of Latvia's
ECS Agreement or 31 January 2015, whichever is the earliest.
Yours sincerely,
Jean Jacques Dordain
