Regarding Medical Statements

Issued pursuant to
Section 17, Paragraphs one and three of the law
On the Operation of State Authorities During
the Emergency Situation Related to the Spread
of COVID-19

1. Taking into account that the provision of planned health care services is discontinued during the emergency situation according to the epidemiological situation and possible epidemiological risks in order to reduce the spread of COVID-19 infection:

1.1. For the duration of the emergency situation, the issuance of medical opinions and statements on health examinations which are laid down in the laws and regulations regarding security guard activities, detective activities, handling of weapons, handling of pyrotechnic articles, handling of explosives and explosive devices for civil use, and also regarding road traffic and vessel traffic, shall be discontinued.

1.2. The time period for the use of the issued medical opinions and statements referred to in Paragraph 1.1 of this Order which expire during the emergency situation shall be three months after the end of the emergency situation.

2. The Order shall enter into effect on the day following publication thereof in the official gazette Latvijas Vēstnesis.
