The Saeima1 has adopted On the Convention Establishing a Customs Co-operation Council and the Amendments ThereofSection 1. The Convention Establishing a Customs Co-operation Council of 15 December 1950 (hereinafter - Convention) and the Recommendation of the Customs Co-operation Council of 30 June 2007 concerning the amendments of the Convention Establishing a Customs Co-operation Council (hereinafter - Amendments) are adopted and approved with this Law. Section 2. The fulfilment of obligations provided for in the Convention and the Amendments shall be co-ordinated by the Ministry of Finance. Section 3. It shall be recognised that, according to the instrument of accession to the Convention of the Council of Ministers of 8 May 1992 and Article 18 of the Convention, the Convention shall apply in Latvia from 22 June 1992. Section 4. The Amendments shall come into force in accordance with the period of time and procedures specified in Article 20 of the Convention, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs shall notify thereof in the newspaper Latvijas Vēstnesis [the official Gazette of the Government of the Republic of Latvia]. Section 5. This Law shall come into force on the day following the proclamation thereof. Along with the Law the Convention and the Amendments shall be proclaimed in English with a translation into Latvian thereof. This Law has been adopted by the Saeima on 13 November 2008. President V.
