Regulations regarding Work Associated with Possible Risk to the Health of Other Persons and in which Persons Employed therein are Subject to Mandatory Health Examinations

Issued pursuant to
Section 34 of the
Epidemiological Safety Law

1. These regulations prescribe the types of work associated with a possible risk to the health of other persons (including trainees) and in which persons employed in this type of work are subject to mandatory initial (prior to commencing employment) and periodic health examinations, as well as the frequency of periodic examinations (Annex 1).

2. A mandatory initial health examination and mandatory periodic health examinations shall be performed upon those persons whose work (traineeship) is closely associated with a possible risk to the health of other people and who are employed in:

2.1. undertakings (commercial companies), institutions and organisations involved in any of the stages of circulation of foodstuffs (except for the production of grain milling products, yeast, starch and starch products, the production of distilled alcoholic beverages, the production of ethyl alcohol from other fermented materials, the production of wine, cider and other fruit wines and the production of other non-distilled beverages from fermented materials); and

2.2. undertakings (commercial companies), institutions and organisations the type of activity of which includes the provision of services to clients in:

2.2.1. hairdressing salons and cosmetology salons;

2.2.2. swimming pools for public use;

2.2.3. saunas for public use;

2.2.4. solaria;

2.2.5. tourist lodgings;

2.2.6. official accommodation facilities;

2.3. pre-school educational establishments;

2.4. general educational establishments;

2.5. vocational educational establishments;

2.6. children's extracurricular educational establishments;

2.7. children's work and recreation camps;

2.8. social care institutions;

2.9. medical treatment institutions (including in sanatoriums); and

2.10. passenger services on long-distance trains.

3. A mandatory initial health examination and mandatory periodic health examinations upon employees shall be performed by a primary health care physician in observance of the requirements specified in Annex 1 of this Regulation and he or she shall give (not give) permission for the employee to work in the given position by making an entry in the medical booklet of the person (Annex 2).

4. An employer shall make an entry in the medical booklet of a person, indicating the information regarding workplace and position of the employee and shall certify the correctness of the entry with a signature and seal.

5. The medical booklets of a person shall be preserved in a place accessible to a supervisory body. The supervisory body shall make an entry in the control statement regarding the control of the medical booklet of the person.

6. If an employee changes his or her place of work and the amount of required mandatory health examinations corresponds with those performed previously, the subsequent regular examination may be performed in observance of the frequency of the mandatory health examinations specified in Annex 1 of this Regulation.

7. Compliance with these Regulations shall be controlled by the State Sanitary Inspection and the Food and Veterinary Service in accordance with their competence.

3. The owner of the medical booklet shall immediately inform his or her employer and visit his or her primary health care physician if the following symptoms of diseases occur:

3.1. diarrhoea;

3.2. vomiting;

3.3. jaundice;

3.4. fever; high body temperature;

3.5. sore throat;

3.6. skin rash;

3.7. skin damage on open parts of the body (burn wounds, wounds, abscesses, etc.);

3.8. purulent discharges from the eyes, ears, nose.
