The Saeima 1 has adopted and On the Special State Benefit for the Children of Persons who Died in the Process of Regaining Independence of LatviaSection 1. The following children of the persons who died in the process of regaining independence of Latvia (during the barricades of January 1991 and the August Coup) shall have the right to receive the special State benefit (hereinafter - the special benefit): Svetlana Gomonoviča (born on 10 January 1982); Larisa Gomonoviča (born on 21 March 1986); Vitālijs Gomonovičs (born on 10 September 1988); Pāvels Konoņenko (born on 1 January 1986); Edgars Salmiņš (born on 21 March 1981); Ramona Salmiņa (born on 5 May 1984); Anna Slapiņa (born on 27 January 1986); Andris Slapiņš (born on 18 September 1991); Una Zvaigzne (born on 15 November 1984); Krišjānis Zvaigzne (born on 5 January 1990). Section 2. The special benefit shall be determined in double the amount of the State social security benefit and shall be disbursed once a month. Section 3. The special benefit shall be granted and disbursed by the State Social Insurance Agency. Section 4. The special benefit shall be disbursed from the funds of the State basic budget. Section 5. The special benefit shall be paid to the child up to 18 years of age, but if the child is learning in a secondary special or higher education institution - up to 24 years of age. The Law shall come into force on the day following its proclamation. The Law has been adopted by the Saeima on 18 January 2001. President V.
