AGREEMENT
between the Government of the Republic of Latvia
and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan
on Mutual Visa-Free Travels for Diplomatic Passports Holders

The Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the Republic of Latvia, hereinafter referred to as the "Parties",

desiring to strengthen the amicable links between both States,

seeking to facilitate the entry and exit, as well as the travels between citizens of the Republic of Latvia and of the Republic of Uzbekistan, who are holders of valid diplomatic passports,

have agreed as follows:

Article 1

1. Citizens of the Republic of Latvia and the Republic of Uzbekistan who are holders of valid diplomatic passports may enter, exit and transit through the territory of the Republic of Latvia or the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan without visas.

2. Persons mentioned in paragraph 1 of this Article may stay in the territory of the Republic of Latvia or the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan without visas for duration of no more than ninety (90) days in any 180-day period.

Article 2

1. Holders of valid diplomatic passports of the Republic of Latvia and the Republic of Uzbekistan assigned to a diplomatic or consular representation may enter, exit and stay in the territory of the Republic of Latvia or the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan without a visa during the term of their mission.

2. Same rules shall apply to the family members of the persons mentioned in paragraph 1 of this Article, provided that they hold valid diplomatic passports.

Article 3

The visa exemption established under this Agreement shall not release the holders of valid diplomatic passports from the obligation to respect the laws and regulations of the Republic of Latvia or the Republic of Uzbekistan, including those on registration (accreditation), stay and movement of foreign nationals.

Article 4

Each Party reserves the right to deny entry or stay of the holder of a valid diplomatic passport in the territory of the Republic of Latvia or the Republic of Uzbekistan if the person is deemed undesirable.

Article 5

1. The Parties shall exchange through diplomatic channels specimens of the diplomatic passports in circulation within thirty (30) days after the date of signing of this Agreement.

2. The Parties shall exchange through diplomatic channels specimens of new modification diplomatic passports, including a detailed description of these documents, no later than thirty (30) days prior to their introduction.

Article 6

1. Each Party may suspend, either in whole or in part, the implementation of this Agreement by reasons of public order, national security or protection of public health.

2. The suspension shall take effect thirty (30) days after the notification thereof has been sent to the other Party through diplomatic channels.

Article 7

Disputes arising from the interpretation or application of this Agreement shall be settled by means of negotiations and consultations through diplomatic channels.

Article 8

This Agreement may be amended by written agreement of the Parties in form of separate protocols which shall form integral parts of this Agreement.

Article 9

1. This Agreement is concluded for an indefinite period of time and shall enter into force on the day of receipt of the last written notification through diplomatic channels on the completion of internal legal procedures necessary for its entry into force.

2. Each Party may terminate this Agreement by giving written notification to the other Party through diplomatic channels. In this case, the Agreement shall be terminated ninety (90) days after the date of receipt of such notification.

Done at Tashkent on the 28 May of 2014, in duplicate, in Latvian, Uzbek and English languages, all texts being equally authentic. In case of divergence in interpretation, the English text shall prevail.
