Regulations Regarding Limits for
Hotel (Lodging) Expenses for Family Members of an Active Service
Soldier, if the Solder Undergoes Medical Treatment outside the
Borders of Latvia
Issued pursuant to
Section 21, Paragraph six of the Law On Remuneration of
Officials and Employees of State and Local Government
Institutions
1. This Regulation prescribes the limits for hotel (lodging)
expenses, which are covered by the Ministry of Defence for family
members (spouse, children, parents) of an active service soldier,
if the solder, in carrying out service duties, has suffered an
injury (mutilation, concussion) or such disease, the cause of
which is related to performance of military service (occupational
disease), and is undergoing medical treatment outside the border
of Latvia.
2. The Minister for Defence shall cover hotel (lodging)
expenses according to documents confirming expenses and without
exceeding the limits laid down in Annex to this Regulation for
not more than two family members of the soldier.
3. The Ministry of Defence shall cover hotel (lodging)
expenses for not more than seven days during medical treatment of
the soldier.
