Regulations regarding Work in which Employment of Children from the Age of 13 is permitted

Issued pursuant to Section 37, Paragraph two
of the Labour Law

1. These Regulations prescribe work in which employment of children from the age of 13 years is permitted if one of the parents (guardian) has given written consent.

2. Children from the age of 13 outside of school hours may be employed in the following work:

2.1. the weeding and watering of gardens;

2.2. harvesting;

2.3. the picking of flowers;

2.4. the collection of medical plants;

2.5. the packaging of fruit, vegetables and berries;

2.6. the planting and maintenance of trees, flowers and plants;

2.7. the preparation of saplings;

2.8. the feeding, care and pasture of domestic animals if the work is not performed in places in which artificial breeding and mating of animals is performed, and if the work is not related to the caring of predatory animals, breeding stallions and bulls;

2.9. the non-mechanical preparation of hay;

2.10. cleaning up of squares and public gardens;

2.11. the sorting and ironing of clean laundry;

2.12. the performance of the work of a domestic;

2.13. the upkeep of offices, hotels, cafes and other similar premises;

2.14. the washing of means of transport, windows and other objects if the work is not related to the cleaning of various tanks and equipment, as well as the cleaning of pipes, furnaces, gas-pipes and ventilation equipment;

2.15. the performance of courier work;

2.16. the wrapping and packaging of goods;

2.17. the sticking of labels on goods and products;

2.18. the cleaning of footwear and the provision of other simple street services (attachment of posters, window cleaning, performance of messenger duties);

2.19. the delivery of goods at home; and

2.20. the retailing of food and non-food products on the street.

3. These Regulations shall come into force on 1 June 2002.
